EXCLUSIVE: World Cup winning Brazil star Denilson has changed his mind about a potential guest stint in the A-League and is now keen on signing a full-year contract.
The Brazilian had previously been in negotiations with Perth Glory about a proposed nine-game stint.
However, the ex-Real Betis player - who was recently playing top-flight football in Brazil with Palmeiras - has now said he wants to spend a full season in the A-League.
Glory had initially been in talks with the 31 year-old, with reports suggesting he was set to sign within a week for the former National Soccer League giants.
It was perhaps a sign of the new direction being taken by the A-League club, who have struggled to re-connect with their fanbase since the fall of the NSL and have found administrative and on-pitch stability similarly difficult to maintain during the formative year's of Australia's new premier football competition.
With Tony Sage now in full control of the club following the departure of co-owner Brett McKeon in February, Perth have been able to add Socceroo Jacob Burns to their playing roster for next season.
Names such as Uruguayan superstar Alvaro Recoba - who was recently priced out of a move to the club - and Derby County duo Andy Todd and Mile Sterjovski - who have been confirmed to be in talks with the club - have accompanied Burns' arrival.
Denilson's representatives have confirmed that the Brazilian is no longer a priority for Glory as he perhaps once was, his negotiations with the club having been put on hold as they look at alternative marquee options.
Whether his availability for a full season attracts the interest of other A-League clubs remains to be seen, though he would command an annual salary of around US$500-600,000.
The player had also been the subject of an unofficial offer from Brazilian giants Santos and it had previously been reported that Brazil was the preferred option, with his girlfriend's acting career a priority.
