Neither signing has managed to score so far this season, and have come under fire from fans and media for their form. Glory has scored just once so far, through defender-turned-striker Jamie Harnwell.

“We struggled at the beginning of this season with injuries but the players that Ron Smith brought in have made us stronger," said Celeski.

"Upfront with Mate and Nikita...once they start scoring goals they’re going to be hard to stop,” said Celeski.

“Once they start flying, I think we should be fine. We had a decent pre-season and were getting wins away from home.

"I think we’ve put a bit of extra pressure on ourselves because we did well in that so we’ve had a couple of draws to begin with.

"But all the boys have got high spirits and once we get a couple we’ll be fine."

He added: “It’s not lack of form or anything like that. We’re creating enough chances.

"It’s just a bit of luck falling our way. We’ve had enough chances, it’s just a matter of us taking them now.”

Glory take on Central Coast Mariners on Sunday at Bluetongue Stadium and Celeski believes playing the league’s top side will his team will rise to the challenge.

“When you’re playing teams on top it brings the best out of you," he said.

"Knowing that they’re on top of the ladder just means we’ll really be up for it. We’re due for a win as well. It’s not intimidation or pressure or anything like that, we’re just really pumped for the game."

He added: “The Mariners are always competitive. I’ve watched a few of their games and they’re playing some good football and sitting on top of the ladder.

"They’ve only conceded one goal and they’re playing really well. It’s going to be a tough game.”
