ANDREW Clark and Nik Mrdja have extended their contracts with Hyundai A-League champions Central Coast Mariners until the end of the 2008/09 season.
The pair were both starters for the Mariners in their first ever competitive match, against the Newcastle Jets at Bluetongue Stadium in the opening round of the Club World Championship qualifying series in May 2005.
Clark netted the Mariners' first goal in a trial match, while Mrdja scored the first competitive goal and is also the only Central Coast player to have bagged a hat-trick in a competitive fixture, a feat he has achieved on two occasions.
Defender Clark, who has also worked as the club`s strength and conditioning coach since their inception, has made 70 competitive appearances over three seasons with his hometown club, while striker Mrdja has been plagued by injury, making just nine A-League starts in three campaigns because of knee problems.
Mrdja, who showed enough potential to earn his Australia debut last September, has a deal which includes an option for a follow up season in 2009/10.
