Croatia made history as they came from a goal down to beat England 2-1 to make their first World Cup Final and stop the Three Lions from bringing it home.
After five minutes England fans sang ‘it’s coming home’ without any hint of irony when Kieran Trippier's superb free kick was curled up and over Croatia’s wall.
Croatia equalised in the 68th minute when Sime Vrsaljko’s deep cross from the right curled towards the far post and Ivan Perisic nipped in from behind Kyle Walker and struck a powerful volley.
In the 19th minute of extra-time Croatia found the winner when Perisic beat Trippier to a header and the ball found Mario Mandzukic who struck the ball perfectly past Pickford into the bottom right.
England
Jordan Pickford – (GK) 6
Wasn’t busy at all until Croatia equalised and was then called upon more often, making a number of saves and clearances. Couldn’t be blamed for Croatia’s winner.

Kyle Walker 6
Was solid up until he conceded a silly yellow when time wasting in the 54th minute Had a dodgy spell thereafter and was beaten to the ball for Croatia’s equaliser.
John Stones 6
A mixed defensive display but with quality ball distribution. Had the winning header cleared off the line in extra-time but was asleep for Croatia’s winner.
Harry Maguire 6
Not as consistent a performance, looked a bit shaky with mistimed headers and passes but played his heart out.
Ashley Young 6
A mostly solid display by the right-wing back. He produced a great defensive clearance in the 33rd minute.
Kieran Trippier 7
Gave England the lead with a superb free-kick and was forgiven for that haircut. A great display but looked nervous after the equaliser and was beaten by Perisic who set up the winning goal.
