The Jets have spots open and hope the 30-year-old left winger, once on the books of English club Southampton and MLS club San Jose Earthquakes, fits the bill.

Culina trialled three players during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Sydney FC but it's not likely any will sign. The Jets boss was not particularly impressed with South American trialist, striker Jorge Florentin.

Felipe Garcia and Andrea Merenda also trialled but did not catch Culina's eye.

"I think none of them finished on the park," Culina said when asked about his trio of trialists.

As for Arias, Culina joked: "He could be here for a day, he could be here for a week. You don't know."

He added: "We won't concede too many goals, the question is, are we going to score enough?"

Culina was generally pleased with the performance of his side who are now three games undefeated.

"We were hard to break down today but when we got the ball in the first half we did nothing with it, we just gave it straight back," he said.

"That's also understandable, to some extent, because we were missing Nikolai Topor-Stanley, Donny de Groot, Tarek Elrich, Ben Kantarovski and Marko Jesic.

"We need more games and to have all of our players back so that we can get that understanding and cohesion that's required."

Culina also praised the contribution of Vignaroli, who played his first game since returning to Australia from a break spent at his home in northern Italy.

He added: "Quality players are always important to a club. He's the type of player that's got the experience and he's got the quality.

"That was just a great ball that Fabio played through for Song to score the equaliser."

The Jets play Bankstown in a friendly this Wednesday night.
