ROAR boss Frank Farina gave red-carded hardman Craig Moore a verbal volley for his sending off in his A-League debut, he revealed today.
"I felt like I was back at school going to see the headmaster," he told Brisbane’s Courier-Mail. "Frank put it in no uncertain terms that these things won't be accepted."
Moore got his marching orders after a studs-up challenge on Nathan Burns, just minutes after receiving a yellow card for another rough tackle.
As Burns went down, Moore screamed furiously at the Adelaide youngster’s prone body while the ref reached for the Socceroo’s second yellow - and the first red card of the new A-League season.
"I got the ball. It wasn't my intention to hurt anybody," Moore told the newspaper. "I'm a fairly physical player and when I make tackles I like to go in strong but fair.
"If I'm going to apologise for anything, it's that my reaction wasn't the best after being sent off.”
Moore’s Roar team-mate Danny Tiatto is also under scrutiny for his savage tackle on Bruce Djite in the same match.
Like ex-Newcastle United star Moore, Tiatto was also making his A-League debut after returnng from playing in the rough and tumble English leagues.
But Moore added: "I don't want to get drawn into comparisons with what happened in the UK. Danny is a hard player. He enjoys the physical battles.”
