"I think I've been patient with people and given them the chance and opportunity to try and resurrect what's been happening and now it's time to make big, big changes," Ferguson said.

"We've got to change this. There's no doubt about that"

He added: "I did a bit of shouting and screaming last week, but this week I was quite composed and told them this isn't good enough for Perth Glory, it's embarrassing for the calibre of players we've got.

"It's just not good enough, we've got to do better. We can't pass the ball, we can't keep the ball.

"The goals that we lost are silly goals. It's our own downfall."

Perth defender Jamie Coyne maintained his stance the Glory should not panic and called for a change of gameplan ahead of Wednesday's home clash with Melbourne Heart.

"I don't think panicking helps anyone," Coyne said. "We've got to dig ourselves out of this.

"It's obviously very disappointing. To be involved in the run that we're in at the moment it's not where anyone wants to be.

"We've got to try and work really hard and come up with a gameplan that we can execute and come away with some points on Wednesday and hopefully Sunday as well."

Mariners skipper Alex Wilkinson was delighted with his side's performance as they moved into third spot following a month without much football.

"It's been a pretty tough period for us not having too many games, only three this month, the last performance against Brisbane was pretty disappointing so we came here tonight really trying to make amends and I'm really proud of the boys' effort," he said.

"Fantastic for 90 minutes and that's the sort of consistency we need to play with each week and build from there."

Central Coast's next match is away to North Queensland Fury on Friday night.
