Glory led for most of Sunday's contest after Josh Mitchell's fifth-minute goal but were denied the victory when Patrick Zwaanswijk netted on 87 minutes.

Zwaanswijk's goal, though, came after Daniel McBreen appeared to cannon into Joshua Risdon when fighting for a header before the Dutchman rose highest to score the leveller.

Glory players protested the goal but it stood and Ferguson told FoxSports he felt sick for the players after the decision.

"I'm sick for the boys, the effort they put in and the commitment they gave us today was fantastic," he said.

"Where the referees go I don't know. The FFA will obviously have to try and do something because it's not just a one-off, it's week after week and it's costing us points."

Glory were also cruelly denied two clear-cut penalties in their last A-League encounter which ended a 1-1 draw with North Queensland Fury.

Ferguson added: "I'm sick and tired of the inconsistency of these referees. Something's got to be done.

"This is our livelihood and we're playing for three points here and unfortunately we've lost two points with five minutes to go because I thought it was a blatant free-kick for us.

"Unfortunately it doesn't go our way. I think some of the decisions today were dreadful."

Glory midfielder Steven McGarry said McBreen's late challenge on Risdon was a clear free-kick.

"I don't think the referees are consistent," he said. "I don't know what I can and can't say, but it was definitely a free-kick.

"When he looks at the replay again the referee will know he's made a terrible decision."

Ferguson added he was happy with his youthful side, with youngsters Risdon, Howard Fondyke and Anthony Skorich impressing.

"I thought the young kids came in today and did a fantastic job," he said.

"They played well and I thought they controlled the game for long spells."

Perth's next match is away to Melbourne Victory on Saturday.
