Ten minutes into the second-half, South’s keeper denied a header from McBreen to force it out for a corner.

Despite Edgeworth continuing to play deep, South managed to take control of the game from the hour mark.

In the dying minutes, Brad Norton’s cross landed fortuitiously in Leigh Minopoulos’ path and almost got a dream win for South but Nate Cavaliere saved.

Moments later Marcus Schroen’s header was saved again by Cavaliere after a Matthew Foschini centre.

And when it looked destined for extra-time, Lujic came in to get a thrilling win in front of 2622 fans.

South now have to refocus on NPL VIC as they are currently fighting to defend their 2016 title at the top of the table against Pascoe Vale.

Third tier Hills Brumbies were moments away from a shock 3-2 win over Hakoah, before Scottish veteran Neil Jablonski's late equaliser sent this clash to extra-time.

Hakoah overran the NSW NPL2 during the additional 30 minutes, with three goals, including two from substitutes Gideon Sweet and Aleksandar Lekoski.

The Brumbies had taken a 2-1 half-time lead after Wade Giovaneli opened the scoring and set up the second, immediately after Hakoah's leveller.

Jablonski scored his first to equalise at 2-2 on 54 minutes, before Bradley Robertson appeared to have won it with an 81st minute strike.
