Goalkeeper: Ivan Necevski- Sydney FC
Despite conceding three goals, which he couldn’t do much about, the Sydney ‘keeper put in a solid performance between the sticks for the Sky Blues, dealing with everything that Newcastle sent his way. Necevski was composed in the air as he clutched onto many balls and had one of the safest pair of hands.

Right Back: Josh Risdon- Perth Glory
The youngster put in a strong performance at right back for the Glory with some nice passing and interceptions, while doing well to win the ball with some excellent tackles showing once again why he is one youngster to watch out for.

Centre Back: Trent Sainsbury- Central Coast Mariners
The Perth-born youngster was outstanding against the Perth Glory with many interceptions, clearances and blocks, while possessing the ability to pick out a teammate setting up Danny McBreen with the only goal of the game, showing his potential giving reason why Sainsbury graduated from the AIS.

Centre Back: Andrew Durante- Wellington Phoenix
The Wellington Phoenix Skipper led by example leading his young squad. Durante showed his physical strength by using his body and his wealth of experience helping the Phoenix earn a point.

Left Back: Shane Stefanutto- Brisbane Roar
The veteran fullback was on form rampaging down the left flank against the Victory, pushing forward and threatening from wide positions, while also doing a solid defensively job showing plenty of experience.

Centre Midfield: Thomas Broich- Brisbane Roar
The German continued his form from last season with another goal, finishing superbly despite slipping, while threatened the poor Victory defence all evening from inch perfect set-pieces and through balls.

Centre Midfield: Mitch Nichols- Brisbane Roar
The 23-year-old was arguably Brisbane best player on the park, involved in many moves with his impressive passing game. The former Young Socceroo also got on the end of a poor Lawrence Thomas clearance firing the fourth emphatically, after smartly finding Besart Berisha for the third.

Left Wing: Craig Goodwin- Newcastle Jets
Goodwin put in another fantastic performance against Sydney to deserve a place in the Team of the Week for consecutive games, was arguably man of the match. The former Melbourne Heart youngster caused problems all day down the left flank, scored with an exquisite chip and was also unlucky to hit the post.

Right Wing: Fabio Ferreira- Adelaide United
The Portuguese winger proved to the A-League why he is one of the better off season signings, using his blistering pace by beating Nikolai Topor-Stanley to win a penalty, while linking up well with teammates with one-touch passing and fantastic crossing.

Forward: Alessandro Del Piero- Sydney FC
The Italian and Juventus legend set the A-League alight with a wonderful game against Newcastle including scoring a stunning curling trademark free-kick. Del Piero showed his deft touch on the ball, his ability to turn in a small turning circle, while also having the vision to pick out a teammate showing his superior class.

Striker: Emile Heskey- Newcastle Jets
The big Englishman was involved in many of the Jets moves as Newcastle went long and found the former Liverpool striker. Heskey then brought his teammates into the game holding up the ball before passing, while he worked hard and tracked back. The former English International also gave the Jets the lead with a brilliant volley past the keeper  to cap off a great performance.

Coach: Rado Vidosic- Brisbane Roar
Vidosic has already got one over former colleague Ange Postecoglou by outplaying the Victory all over the park. Vidosic drilled his side to play differently than most would expect playing a more direct passing game, with Michael Theo pumping the ball. Erik Paartalu in the centre of midfield was joined by Massimo Murdocca, while Mitch Nichols played in a more advanced role. Meanwhile Ben Halloran and Thomas Broich out wide terrorised the Victory defence.
