BILLED AS… Roar's chance to go 90 minutes without a red card for the first time this season

IN REALITY… History was against the Mariners - they'd never won at Suncorp before. But a little thing like that wasn't going to beat the unstoppable Mariners. Misfiring Roar had every chance to stake their first win of the season but failed to take any of them.

THE GOOD… Roar played fabulous football, confidently working the ball out of defence and through midfield. They dominated for most of the match and really should have won easily, but the Mariners was solid and withstood the challenge.

THE BAD… Roar's finishing was woefully inadequate. With the number of chances created for them, the Brazilian strikeforce of Marcinho and Reinaldo should have been able to put at least one away each. But time after time, they failed to come up with the goods.

THE UGLY… Danny Tiatto dislocated his shoulder in an apparently harmless challenge with Sasho Petrovski. But he wasn't going to let that stop him - he just popped it back in on the sidelines. Eek!

THEY SAID WHAT… “We’re just a disgrace up front. We can’t keep on missing chances like that. It’s not good enough. We worked hard as a team but when we aren’t even hitting the target never mind converting the chances, it’s frustrating. It's absolute shit the way we played tonight.” Tiatto's tongue was unharmed in the clash with Sasho obviously.

THE FALLOUT… Mariners are streaking away at the top of the table, with a perfect three wins from three games, four points clear of nearest challenger Newcastle Jets. And even although Kwasnik was the goal hero this time, his teammate Nik Mrdja's performance earned him a plane ticket to Melbourne to join the Socceroos the very next day, his first ever call up for Australia at any level.
