WESTERN Sydney Wanderers' Red and Black Bloc were obviously the fans of the week. Adelaide's racist fan was deservedly the villain of the week. But who stood out on the pitch?
GK: Michael Theo
Although he was arguably at fault for Milligan's equalising goal, he was in stunning form throughout and single-handedly earned Roar a point at AAMI Park. Back in form for a key run of games for Brisbane's season - that can only be good news for them.
RB: Pedj Bojic
Another solid defensive performance - not that he was overly tested by Heart - and found the time and space to bomb forward and score a double, the first of which was another stunning free kick. An indispensable player at Central Coast.
LB: Adama Traore
When can we cap him? The best left back in the league right now. Completely dominated Halloran defensively, often beat Hingert when Victory were attacking. One of the players who has improved the most under Ange.
CB: Trent Sainsbury
Another towering performance from the young Mariners defender. An impervious barrier that Heart could not break through. Becoming a mainstay in this team.
CB: Michael Beauchamp
The late sealer against Sydney was a great hit, and he kept Sydney FC out with some timely clearances and blocks. Showed Sydney FC they were wrong to let him go.
CDM: Mark Milligan
His swerving equaliser for Victory was a highlight of that match - and his performance other than that helped to keep an improved Roar attack at bay. Provided yet another coach-killing Victory goal.
CDM: Mateo Poljak
Destroyed the Sydney midfield, and laid the platform for a much improved team performance than the first time around at Parramatta. Has perhaps been the best performer amongst the Wanderers' imports, although Shinji Ono also had a great game in the second Derby.
RAM: Travis Dodd
A fine double from the golden oldie of the Perth attack - albeit against a surprisingly flat Jets squad - ensures he slots into this team. Glory will be hoping this result kickstarts their season - continuing next week with revenge in the Grand Final rematch in Brisbane.
LAM: Marcelo Carrusca
Another virtuoso performance from the Reds midfield maestro, this time with a fine first-half double to bury Phoenix. Would be a lock for my A-League All-Stars team at this point in time.
CAM: Tom Rogic
Just keeps on keeping on - his momentum is leading him overseas, it's inevitable. His pinpoint passing precipitated Heart palpitations at Bluetongue on the weekend, and showed no signs of fatigue from Socceroos duty.
ST: Bruce Djite
Was an effective battering ram against what is normally a robust and compact back four. Made the space for Carrusca and others to exploit - which they did splendidly.
Coach: Graham Arnold
The Mariners dominated Heart, and the result was never, ever in question. That's down to Arnie. It would have been easy for the Mariners players to switch off against a poor Heart side - but he doesn't let them. He is relentless and his players are showing that same attitude.
Referee: Jared Gillett
A great performance at AAMI Park on Saturday night. Got every major decision correct. One of the few rounds this season where it could be argued poor refereeing didn't impact on a single result...
