PERTH Glory marquee man Robbie Fowler insists he just wants to keep on playing when his contract expires at the end of the season, but he hasn't ruled out a rumoured move to MK Dons.
The 35-year-old Englishman has been heavily linked with a return back home at the end of this season to take up a role as MK Dons forwards' coach in the England's League One.
MK Dons manager Karl Robinson, who knows Fowler from his time as an academy coach at Liverpool, said he expected the veteran to link up with the club once his commitments are completed in Australia.
"When his season finishes he'll be over on a regular basis working with the forwards as part of my coaching team," Robinson said.
Fowler has spent the past two seasons in Australia's A-League, spending last term with North Queensland Fury before joining Perth for the current campaign.
According to FoxSports, Glory have strongly denied the reports but Fowler was less clear when he was on Hyundai Matchday Saturday tonight.
"I did a little bit of coaching with Karl and basically what he was saying was that I could come back any time," said Fowler on the Fox Sports show.
"There are quotes saying I'm going to go over in February but my contract's not over until March anyway.
"Whatever happens after that doesn't really concern anyone, to be honest."
He added: "I'm here in Perth until the end of my contract. If there's a chance I can continue playing, then that's what I'm going to do.
"I'm dreading the day I have to retire. Football's the only thing I've ever done and I want to play as long as I can.
"When the day comes to finally hang up your boots, it's probably one of the saddest days in your life."
