SYDNEY FC's Football Superstar winner Adam Hett could be sidelined for up to a year after damaging knee ligaments in a trial game.
Coach John Kosmina had said earlier in the week that the 20-year-old could feature on the bench for the A-League opener against Melbourne Victory.
However, club officials confirmed the youngster had hurt his knee during a match and wouldn't feature in the squad to face Victory.
Hett had made a big impression in his time training with the first team since winning the competition and was also expected to be a big part of the club's National Youth League side.
A club spokesman said: "Adam hurt his knee in a match."
