NORTH Queensland Fury beat Capricorn Cougars 4-0, thanks to a brace from trialist Michael Van Mooelenbrook and goals from Chris Grossman and Fred Agius.
Fury coach Ian Ferguson's team line-up included trialists Roy Krishna and NQ Razorbacks pair Kieran Gonzalez and Ramone Close.
Also in the side was Jacob Timpano captaining the side after making his comeback from injury while contracted players Chris Grossman and Fred Agius joined him, as did A-League hopeful Gary Wales.
Whitsunday Miners trialist Michael Van Mooelenbrook opened the scoring in the tenth minute for Fury at Capricorn Cougars' home ground Jardine Park based in Rockhampton.
A mere 15 minutes later Van Mooelenbrook added a second, with former Roar player Chris Grossman and highly rated youngster Fred Agius rounding off the win with goals in the 42nd minute and 55th minute respectively.
Star recruit Robbie Fowler played no part in the friendly as he is still struggling with the groin injury that kept him out of the friendly in Singapore.
Fowler is not expected to play any part in the second match against Central Coast Mariners, also to be played in Rockhampton, although he could be fit to face Gold Coast United on June 23.
