Glory CEO Scott Gooch has revealed that work is already underway to identify potential targets and while Newcastle Jets have already been linked with him, Mile Sterjovski could be one of those in the frame.

There should be some cash in the coffers with the club having agreed a big fee with FC Twente for the departure of Nikita Rukavytsya.

Gooch told WA Today: "We are already speaking with a number of agents around the world and if we can identify a Socceroo that is willing to come back to Australia or another international we will certainly be pursuing that."

The Glory CEO said such a move would not see the chosen performer suddenly disappear from the international radar either.

"If we talk about a Socceroo coming back to Australia they are certainly going to be under the nose of the national coach," said Gooch.

Despite the club's failure to make the A-League finals, it still retains a strong name in Australian football circles and has a proud sense of history.

"We'd love to think someone of (Sterjovski's) calibre or another Socceroo would be in a position to look at coming back to the A-League," said Gooch.
