Perth Glory has officially confirmed they will return to Members Equity Stadium, after initial negotiations hit a standstill.
Perth Glory was the only side unable to confirm where they would play home matches when the season three's fixtures was announced by the FFA on April 23.
Today, the club's new owners confirmed that they had (Mr Tony Sage, Mr Brett McKeon and Mr John Spence) began investigating other options in Perth. With a new three year lease signed however, the issue has been put to rest.
“There were two key considerations in our assessment of playing venues, the first, making sure our fans had the best possible view of the action and could enjoy the atmosphere and secondly, ensuring a suitable commercial return,” Mr Sage said.
“We were impressed with proposals from a number of other stadiums that would have been suitable from a supporter and commercial aspect however our preference has always been to play matches at a rectangular stadium if possible.
“We have been able to negotiate terms at Members Equity Stadium that will allow us to maximise our opportunities on match days and ensure we continue to strengthen the club off the field,” he added.
It was also confirmed that Ron Smith has been recruiting internationally for the next A-League season. The club has promised that announcements regarding new players will be made "in the very near future."
Perth Glory also launched their 2007/08 Membership campaign today.
