PERTH Glory are bringing home Romanian-based Aussies Josh Mitchell and Michael Baird as the club's playing roster nears conclusion for next season with three other players re-signing
West Australians Jamie Coyne, Todd Howarth and Tommy Amphlett have all signed new deals while Baird and Mitchell will be fresh additions.
Baird, a former Young Socceroo, is a centre forward who has played in Romania's top division with Universitatea Craiova for the past four seasons.
Mitchell, 25, is a versatile defender who also played with Universitatea Craiova since 2005. Born in Newcastle, NSW, Mitchell has played more than 100 games in the Romanian Liga 1.
Perth Glory deputy Chairman Lui Giuliani said he was delighted to have all five players for next season.
"We now have 12 local players in our squad and we have also added to the quality of our list with Josh Mitchell and Michael Baird," he said.
"To have 22 players already signed is pleasing and shows that players want to play for Perth Glory."
Howarth and Amphlett were both rewarded with new contracts after impressive debut seasons in the Hyundai A-League.
Howarth missed just one game and scored two goals while Amphlett featured in five matches as a substitute.
Jamie Coyne, a former club captain will start his eighth season with Glory. Coyne has played in all five seasons of the Hyundai A-League for Perth and was also a member of the 2004 NSL championship side.
Perth Glory also confirmed midfielder Adriano Pellegrino is currently in Scotland on trial with Motherwell.
Pellegrino was scheduled to go on trial back in late January, but decided to concentrate on finishing the season with Perth Glory, but has now taken the chance to try his luck with th Scottish Premier League side.
Perth Glory have one foreign spot remaining on their playing roster for next season.
