Fowler was left lost for words after he had two decent penalty shouts waved away by Griffiths-Jones during the contest.

"We had two blatant penalties," Fowler told FoxSports. "The referee sometimes has to be held accountable and some of decisions at times were wrong."

Fowler added: "I think there were two stonewall penalties, I don't know what else to say. The referee is there to make a decision."

Ferguson told FoxSports he was also disappointed by Griffith-Jones' decision to send off defender Brent Griffiths after he received a second booking for kicking the ball away after the whistle had been blown.

"I think the sendings off, a bit of common sense here," Ferguson said. "Red cards are getting thrown about here."

Fowler disagreed though, saying: "Maybe the second one was probably a little bit stupid from Griff. We can't afford to be going men down and trying to win games.

"All credit to the boys who stayed on, we worked hard."

Ferguson added: "The boys showed a lot of bottle tonight. I thought they all did, even Robbie Fowler had to come into midfield. Credit to everybody.

"There's always been good spirit there, it's just the results have not been there. We'll take the point, not happy, but I thought the referee spoiled the game, we were one up and looking very comfortable."

Perth have the bye next weekend and are next in action on December 12 at home to Central Coast.
