Speaking before his players flew out of Perth today, Mitchell said he expected Gold Coast to be confident of winning the game in front of their supporters at Skilled Stadium.

"I think they are quite an attacking side," he said. "They have a good defence but they'll be attacking us. We've scored quite a few goals on the road so we'll be looking to attack them as well.

"But we have to have a bit caution there - you can't just go for it all the time. You've got to be a bit cautious and go for it when the time is right."

Mitchell was wary of a strong Gold Coast side, which welcomes back Shane Smeltz and skipper Jason Culina from international duty.

"Obviously Smeltz is the top goalscorer in the league," he said. "But they have got a lot of good players in their side.

"They have all their players back and we'll be going to have a go at them."

Mitchell admitted his side had a couple of "knocks and niggles", including Glory marquee Mile Sterjovski, who missed a couple of days of training this week after he pulled up sore in the game against Adelaide.

However, Mitchell was confident the former Derby County midfielder would be fit for the Gold Coast encounter.

Perth will also be without defender Andy Todd, who serves a two-match ban after the club accepted the "violent conduct" charge from the FFA's match review panel.

Mitchell said there were a few options to replace the English defender, including moving former Glory captain Jamie Coyne or youngster Scott Neville into the centre of defence.

The match against Gold Coast is the first part of a two-week trip of Queensland  with the match against North Queensland Fury the following Saturday completing the itinerary.

Mitchell was aiming for his side to claim at least one win from those games.

He added: "We've had two good wins on the road. It's always good to bring points back home.

"But we are looking to get three to six points from the trip and if we can do that they will probably be on top of the ladder."
