PERTH Glory's coaching staff are pleased with the injury progress of several players as they look to this weekend's A-League clash with Queensland Roar.
Amaral and Hayden Foxe are progressing well from injuries that have kept them out of recent matches and will be out to prove they’re ready to resume on Sunday.
Amaral’s influence in midfield would be a huge boost for Perth, as would Foxe at the back, and both are expected to re-join training later this week after finalising their recovery work.
Meanwhile David Tarka is back to full training after overcoming a quad injury that has curtailed his impact this season. The big defender last played for the senior side in round six and gives Glory another solid option in defence.
New recruit Marc Anthony has pulled up well after rolling his ankle in the club’s National Youth League match on Saturday and is expected to be fit to play this week.
The former Celtic midfielder, who had his work visa clearance confirmed last Friday, was given much needed match time in the youth game but picked up the niggle after 30 minutes. He played out the half but didn’t take any further part in the match.
“We’re looking to having Marc back on the track later this week which is good news for him. He has been working with the squad for some time and just when he gets the all clear to play he rolled his ankle.
“He’s recovered well and is keen to get back out with the lads so hopefully he can push for a place this week,” said Glory assistant coach Kenny Lowe.
Hard working utility Naum Sekulovski also trained away from the main group after receiving a knock on his knee last week but the injury isn’t expected to keep him out of Glory’s match against Roar.
