Coyne hobbled out of the club's latest training session with what is believed to be a corked thigh. Mitchell hopes the Socceroos defender will recover in time but won't force the issue.

"It would be a blow, but hopefully it won't be. You don't want to risk players (because we have) to make sure they are available for the week after," said the Glory boss.

Coyne joins an injury list that already inclides marquee man Mile Sterjovski, skipper Jacob Burns, Tando Velaphi, Victor Sikora and Adriano Pellegrino.

It is not yet clear how many will be declared fit for the Roar encounter.

Glory must rely on Wellington dropping points against Central Coast Mariners on Friday night to squeeze into fourth spot and secure a home final.

"Going into the game we will know what Central Coast will have done, which will be a bit of bonus for us,'' Mitchell said. "We are strong at home, so hopefully the Mariners get a result over there.

"It is a big ask, but it's Lawrie's last game and he will probably want to go out on a strong note."
