FORMER Manchester United defender John Curtis is firmly on Gold Coast United's radar as he prepares for a two-week training stint with the A-League club.
The 31-year-old former England B and under 20 international played 13 matches for the Red Devils before he joined Blackburn where he made over 60 appearances.
Curtis has also played for Leicester City, Portsmouth, Nottingham Forest and QPR in a career that began back in 1994 when he was a member of the Manchester United youth team.
He will train with Gold Coast for two weeks beginning on Monday and coach Miron Bleiberg said he would definitely consider signing the versatile defender if everything went to plan.
"John is very welcome to come and spend some time with us and we are very much looking forward to having him here," Bleiberg said.
"He has undoubted quality and is very experienced. John is coming here via a mutual acquaintance and I am not sure at this stage what his long-term intentions are."
"Anything is possible, but the plan at the moment is for John to come and train with us and we will see what happens from there."
