GOLD Coast United are poised to offer Mark Bosnich a permanent deal once the club's A-League licence is rubber-stamped by the FFA.
Miron Bleiberg cast his eye over the goalkeeper in last Sunday's Pre-Season Cup clash with Queensland Roar at Perry Park but no official approach can be made until the licence is forthcoming.
However, with Bosnich only set for short-term stint at Central Coast Mariners United are expected to move in with the offer of a longer-term contract.
Bleiberg told goldcoast.com.au: "Mark is still obviously top quality.
"I haven't spoken to him and until we get our licence we cannot officially approach players.
"You can see he's nearly back to his former playing weight and his desire and enthusiasm to prove people wrong is obviously very strong.
"He's one of a few options we're looking at."
Bosnich has made a big impression during his spell with the Mariners and earned plenty of praise for his performances in the two matches he has played.
He looks to have done enough to be handed a stand-in rule while Danny Vukovic is suspended but there will be no role beyond that.
Mariners coach Lawrie McKinna said: "He's been fantastic. He's training hard, he's keen, he's a pleasure to work with.
"We're not looking at Mark for the season, we're looking at the five-game gap when Danny is suspended."
