EXCLUSIVE: Gold Coast insiders say Gold Coast United's A-League entry is a done deal – with the FFA to officially confirm Clive Palmer's bid later this week.
“I'm not sure why they're waiting on announcing it but it's a done deal,” a United insider tells au.fourfourtwo.com.
FFA CEO Ben Buckley told the Courier Mail how impressed he was with the Palmer plan to bring A-League footy to the Gold Coast.
"We believe Clive's financial resources will support the bid – there's no question about that," he said.
"More importantly there's a demonstrated commitment to engage with the Gold Coast community.”
A total of ten bids were put to the FFA, further proof of the league's growing attraction in the corporate world.
