EXCLUSIVE: Mariners midfielder Andre Gumprecht says the influence of Mark Bosnich will be felt for a long time even if he's played his last game for the club.
Speaking on the night that Bosnich's guest stint at the club was abruptly ended after six minutes of the 4-1 win over Perth Glory, Gumprecht said Bosnich was a special person to have around the club.
"Brilliant, brilliant, an absolute fantastic character. He's a class act in the change room. But in saying that he's an absolute brilliant goalkeeper too," he told au.fourfourtwo.com.
"He is tactically aware, and a smart guy who's been around this game for quite a while and he's had no problems fitting in to this team.
"He had also no problems fitting back into playing competitive games after such a long time, it was sensational."
Bosnich's guest stint in Gosford appears almost certainly to have ended courtesy of a hamstring injury that saw the former Chelsea keeper limp off after six minutes.
With only two games left in his guest-contract it seems hard to believe he could return so soon.
The one-time Socceroo was a dejected figure in the change-rooms after it was revealed he had torn his hamstring. The player will go for MRI scans on Monday.
Bosnich has also revealed that he is set to visit LA for a short period in late October to early November to take part in a UK TV show.
Gumprecht added: "He talks so much at training, he wants to win everything at training. It's unbelievable but I really like that. It's what's always pushed him forward.
"He's had so much experience in life and in every direction. He is so much absolute value to have in the change-room."
