HARRY Kewell's Galatasaray climbed to fourth place in the Turkish Super Lig table, six points off the top, thanks to a 1-0 win at Istanbul Buyuksehir BSK, Milan Baros scoring the only goal in the 65th minute.
Ten-man Besiktas missed the chance to go topĀ as they were held to a 0-0 home draw by Bursaspor.
The Istanbul side, who now trail leaders Sivasspor by one point, played with 10 men from the 44th minute after Ibrahim Toraman was sent off.
Ankaragucu boosted their hopes of avoiding the drop with an exciting 3-2 victory over Eskisehirspor.
Barbaros Barut opened the scoring for the hosts in the sixth minute but Abdel El Saka, who was sent off late on, equalised (42) and Anderson put Eskisehirspor ahead in the 57th minute.
The lead lasted only a minute as Mehmet Yilmaz levelled and substitute Leonardo Iglesias netted the winner just after the hour mark.
The win was enough to lift Ankaragucu out of the bottom three at the expense of Istanbul Buyuksehir while Hacettepe SK stay rooted to the bottom despite a 0-0 draw at Gaziantepspor.
Kocaelispor are also in deep trouble and they succumbed 2-1 to Denizlispor today. All the excitement came at the end with Tijani Babangida (72) and Guray Vural (81) netting either side of Murat Hacioglu's 78th-minute equaliser for Kocaelispor.
In midtable, Antalyaspor closed to within a point of seventh-placed Kayserispor thanks to a 2-1 win over their rivals.
Serge Djiehoua's 37th-minute strike was cancelled out by Julius Aghahowa three minutes after half-time but substitute Hakan Ozmert claimed the winner eight minutes from time.
Both sides were reduced to 10 men midway through the second half when Aghahowa and Sedat Agcay saw red.
