JOHN Hutchinson will get another chance to cement a starting berth in Central Coast's midfield when the Mariners host Melbourne Heart on Saturday night.
After a successful stint playing in the Chinese Super League, Hutchinson has been back training with the Mariners for the past three weeks and was picked in the starting side when Central Coast beat Sydney FC 3-2.
He was given a chance on the left side of Graham Arnold's midfield diamond with Oliver Bozanic on Olyroo duty.
Bozanic is again away on national duty this weekend giving Hutchinson another chance to start.
He knows pressure for spots is intense so he needs to make the most of any opportunity.
"There's pressure for spots throughout the team; that's how it should be,'' Hutchinson said. "I got a chance last week because Ollie was away. I think I did OK, it was a bit slow to start but I enjoy playing on the left.''
"I got into it more as the game went on. When you get a chance you've got to take it.''
Hutchinson had plenty of good touches and his range of passing was evident, especially in the second half.
As well as Bozanic, the Mariners will also be without goalkeeper Mathew Ryan who is also in the Olyroos squad.
Justin Pasfield had several good touches in his A-League debut for the club against Sydney and will be hoping for another strong showing between the sticks against the in-form Heart.
