EXCLUSIVE: Nikolai Topor-Stanley believes Ljubo Milicevic's experience will be crucial in the Asian Champions League and he's relishing the chance to link up with him.
Topor-Stanley, Milicevic and Ang Costanzo have all been recruited by Gary van Egmond with the latter due to arrive at the club early next week.
Topor-Stanley and Milicevic have already had one outing together in Tuesday's trial victory over Central Coast Mariners.
Former Perth Glory defender Topor-Stanley is delighted with the early signs. He told au.fourfourtwo.com: "Ljubo is going to bring a lot to the team in terms of ability, leadership and experience and so I'm looking forward to teaming up with him.
"He's not afraid to speak his mind, he's quite a character and I think it will be really good, especially for the younger, inexperienced boys to see someone who has been around the traps.
"He's played for the Socceroos and also in Europe for a number of years."
Topor-Stanley recently returned from a spell in Europe and a number of trial spells but his immediate focus is firmly on Asia.
"You can only see what it's (the Asian Champions League) has done for Adelaide and for Australian football. They've done really well and it's brought a lot of limelight for them," he said.
"Hopefully we can emulate them and go one step further."
The defender's return to Australian shores has also coincided with a spot in the Socceroos squad to face Kuwait in next week's Asian Cup qualifier.
He added: "It's good to come back and be called into that game.
"Hopefully I can work myself into a starting position there. I just have to concentrate on staying fit now, playing and getting results."
