Ferguson turned around an early season slump after starting promisingly, and finished the home and away season with a bang, thumping Melbourne Victory 4-2 on Saturday.

The result ensured Glory finished in third spot and in pole position to challenge Brisbane Roar or Central Coast Mariners for a place in the Grand Final.

“It’s fantastic to have Ian on board for another two years,” Perth Glory Chief Executive Paul Kelly said.

“Ian deserves great credit for guiding Perth Glory to our best season in the Hyundai A-League and into our first home final.

“It now gives us stability to build towards the future and have a good run at the Championship.”

Having coached Perth Glory to third spot in his first full season in charge, Ferguson was excited to be given the opportunity to continue his reign.

“I am delighted to get the opportunity to take the club forward for another two years," Ferguson said.

“It gives us the chance to continue to build on what we have done so far this season.”
