The key defender has missed the club’s past two matches with a right hamstring injury.

However scans last week revealed a small lump on his other leg which, in consultation with club medical staff and other experts, was decided to be removed.

“I am frustrated to again only be watching and not playing but I’ve put my faith in the medical staff and I’m confident that I will be back very soon,” said Foxe.

“I’ll do everything I can to support the boys and will be watching with plenty of interest when they go up to Queensland and snatch the three points from the Roar.

“The procedure was only a relatively minor thing and I’ll rest up for the next few days before continuing my rehab.”

The former Socceroo has endured an interrupted campaign as only featured in two matches this season but the club hopes he can still add composure and quality to Glory’s back four.

The foot injury that restricted Foxe getting onto the park in the early part of the season has been rectified and with another carefully managed rehab program, he is expected to be back training in the near future.

“Foxey is desperate to be playing and is disappointed that things have compounded to stop him being out on the pitch but we’re supporting him and looking forward to having him available again in the near future,” coach Dave Mitchell said.

“Hayden’s upbeat attitude continues to make a positive impact in the change rooms and his experience and knowledge of the game is invaluable on and off the pitch.

“Despite the setbacks he maintains an enthusiastic approach which is admired by team mates and coaching staff.”
