Results of scans on his injured right knee revealed damage to the medial and posterior ligaments.

The injury does not require surgery but Foxe will wear a brace for a number of weeks as part of his rehabilitation.

“I think this result is as good as we might have expected, it certainly could have been a lot worse,” said Glory coach Ron Smith.

“While it’s unfortunate he’ll be out for the start of our campaign, we can look forward to having Hayden back in the team this season which is a huge positive for the club.

Smith added: “I’ve spoken to Hayden and he’s obviously disappointed.

"However he is a true professional and is now firmly focused on starting his rehabilitation and preparing to get back onto the pitch to do what he does best."
