The forward did not train on the Moore Park pitch today, instead continuing work in the gym as he battles a quad problem.

He certainly won't feature against Wellington Phoenix on Sunday with the coach doubtful whether Aloisi will feature again at all this season.

It has been a largely miserable campaign for Aloisi and a happy ending to the season doesn't appear likely.

Speaking after training at Sydney Football Stadium today Kosmina said: "Johnny hasn't been on the track for two weeks so to be honest I think you'll be lucky to see him again this season.

"He's been out (for two weeks) so he's got at least a week of hard work (to do) and I don't think he's up to it yet."

As for next season, there have been reports of a gentlemen's agreement that would offer Aloisi an exit from the club with a year still of his contract to run.

Kosmina said: "You'd have to ask Johnny that. It's got nothing to do with me, what Johnny's arrangement or gentlemen's agreement with Andrew (Kemeny) was.

"Any player is free to go if they want to, we've lost four or five players for next season anyway because they chose to leave.

"Whether I want him to stay or not is irrelevant, it's his choice.

"We'll see how Johnny goes and what he wants to do.

"I haven't spoken to him about it. It's not a good type of thing to talk about at this stage of the season. I'm more worried about what we've got to do in the weekend rather than what Johnny's going to do next year.

"From that point of view I'll also look at what the youngsters we use for next season as well."

As for the players definitely heading for pastures new, Kosmina refutes any lack of effort but admits it creates difficulties.

He said: "I wouldn't say they haven't been giving 100 per cent, to answer it honestly, and I said this in Adelaide last week, I think it's very difficult to have your head in two spaces at once."
