The tenacious defender pledged his future to the Western Australian outfit on Friday saying it was the best place to develop his football.

The news comes just days shy of his 25th birthday and on the eve of the new season with big things expected of Glory.

Coach Alistair Edwards turned the club around in the back end of last season after taking over from sacked coach Ian Ferguson.

And Jamieson made no bones about the fact he wants to stay with Glory and be part of the revolution.

“I'm very happy to be staying at Perth Glory," the former Blacktown City junior said . "I feel this is a place I can continue to grow as a footballer and a person.

“I’ve really enjoyed playing with my past and current team mates and feel that there are exciting times ahead.

“Perth is a great place to live and I feel with the great fans and great squad we have at the club , we will be a major force in the future.”

Edwards hailed Jamieson was a fantastic player and his contact extension, along with other recent signings like Danny Vukovic, was further proof of the Glory's positive culture.

"First and foremost, he's a very good player," Edwards said of Jamieson.

"He's had a great season last year and been rewarded with an invitation to the Socceroos training camps.

"(Alongside Danny Vukovich), they're important signings for the club. It's great to have these guys on the cusp of Socceroos selection buying into our philosophy at this great club.

"They're in a good environment because they're ambitious and they want to play at the highest level and it's great for everyone."

Last season Jamieson played 22 games for Perth and finished runner up to Steve McGarry in the Most Glorious Player Award.

A defender who always likes to get forward, he delivered 181 balls into the penalty area during 2012/13, the 7th best in the league.

Edwards added: "Scott brings those marauding runs down the left-hand side - it reminds me a little bit of the Scott Miller of old.

"That's one of the important things for Scott as well in that he has a club legend in Scotty Miller as one of the coaching staff.

"Scott Miller is probably the best left back the club has ever produced so it's great that another Scott is helping him.

"Jammo is highly ambitious and he has some really good people around him to help him achieve his goals. You see them talking a lot on the sidelines and one-on-one, they do a lot of video analysis together.

"We're really pleased with the way everything is going and I think the culture here is fantastic.

"We've got some really good strong experienced players who have committed themselves to the club and alongside that we have some really exciting young talent who are going to benefit from the Jacob Burns's, Scott Jamiesons and Danny Vukovics."

Jamieson signed with Bolton Wanderers in 2006 and made an impressive return to Australia in 2008, picking up the Rising Star Player of the Year award in his debut season with Adelaide United.

He returned to his home town of Sydney in 2010 where he lined up for the Sky Blues before making the move to Perth in 2012.
