FREE-KICK maestro Mile Jedinak is looking to puncture Queensland Roar's impeccable road record to claim a season-defining win for Central Coast Mariners.
The Socceroo doesn't believe his side is out of the race for honours this season but accepts they need to start stringing together a series of results.
He said: "If we can get a roll going and a few wins in a row, we’ll be well in the ace.
"Let’s hope that we can start that off this week and build from there.
"Roar will be one of our toughest games this year, they’re a good team, well organised and their away record speaks for itself.
"They haven’t lost away yet and that’s something to take notice of."
Queensland will be wary of conceding cheap free-kicks this weekend with Jedinak having already netted four times from set piece situations this season.
The midfielder said: "I’ll take any goal that I can get.
"I don’t really get many opportunities but whatever goals I can contribute to the team, if it helps us get the result."
Whether he gets on the scoresheet or not, Jedinak is anxious to get the festive month off to the perfect start. He says now is the time for the club to begin its charge.
He said: "This month will shape our season and shape the final four and it’s important for not just us, but for all teams to get points."
