BOGOTA, March 1 (World Cup) - Colombian Football Association vice-president Ramon Jessurum insists Colombia are absolutely serious about their bid to host the 2014 World Cup.
Colombia and Brazil are the only countries to have submitted bids to FIFA, but the world governing body's president Sepp Blatter has reportedly said Colombia's bid to host the tournament was not genuine and was more for "PR reasons".
But Jessurum said: "We are surprised because we've been working alongside the national government on this project.
"We are analysing if we can afford the costs of organising a World Cup, but now there are quotes that have made all this process colder."
Colombia were set to host the 1986 World Cup but due to financial difficulties, the tournament was moved to Mexico.
The hosts of the 2014 tournament will be announced in November.
