NEWCASTLE Jets are hoping they can tempt Olyroos skipper Mark Milligan back to the A-League after confirming their interest in the defender.
Milligan is looking to pursue European football and his trials so far have included Arsenal, Porto and Werder Bremen.
However, if he is unable to secure a European club, Jets owner Con Constantine says they would love to have him.
He told the Herald: "Mark would be the ideal person if we could get him, number one, and at the right price, number two.
"I like him as a player. He is a lovely boy off the park, but when he gets on it he changes. You are dealing with another person. He has a bit of mongrel in him."
One place Milligan won't be going though is former club Sydney FC. Coach John Kosmina told the media last week: "You don’t go out with old girlfriends and you don’t take old players back.”
