NEWCASTLE Jets defeated Central Coast Mariners 2-1 earlier today in a friendly match ahead of next week's ACL games for both sides.
Central Coast took a first half lead through defender Pedj Bojic who headed home from a corner only for the Jets' Peter Haynes and Matt Thompson to secure the points for the home side in the second half.
According to those at Ray Watt Oval, the Mariners played two separate XIs in each half.
Next week in the ACL, Central Coast have the mountainous task of visiting Kawasaki Frontale in Tokyo while the Jets host Nagoya Grampus 8.
