INCOMING Newcastle Jets owner Nathan Tinkler has sent a message to local fans by declaring free entry for all children under the age of 15 for Saturday's match against Melbourne Victory.
Tinkler, who took over ownership of the NSW club on Wednesday, is looking to make an immediate impact and has made the offer as a symbolic gesture to the people of Newcastle and the Hunter that he is giving the club back to the community.
The clear message that is being communicated from the club owner is that this is a brand new start, a rebirth of the club, a start that is all inclusive.
The free children tickets will be available at the stadium on Saturday night. Recipients of the tickets are advised to get to the ground well in advance of the 7.30pm kick off to avoid the expected long queues. Public gates open at 6pm.
The Jets said in a press statement: "The clear direction from Nathan Tinkler has created positive optimism and anticipation amongst staff, players and supporters of the club.
"A new era has commenced at the Newcastle Jets, an era that is inclusive of all who are passionate about the Newcastle Jets."
