Former Newcastle Jets striker Ante Milicic may be returning to Energy Australia Stadium for Version 4 of the Hyundai A-League. Having left the Queensland Roar for Shahzan Muda FC of the Malaysian Premier League (the 2nd tier of football in the nation), the veteran striker was among the top scorers of the league. Currently looking to settle back in Australia with his family, Milicic is believed to have been in contact with Jets boss Gary van Egmond in a bid to become Mark Bridge's replacement as strike partner alongside Joel Griffiths. A major part in the deal is believed to be the possibility of Milicic playing a role with the Jets youth coaching staff, having recently undertaken an FFA coaching course alongside other Australian football veterans such as Paul Okon,Kevin Muscat and Michael Valkanis.
