Feyenoord won the Eredivisie title last season under Jones' leading displays, but have struggled to back up their league form this season, currently sitting fourth in the Dutch league.

However, Jones' form has continued to be a highlight and Feyenoord have excelled in the KNVB Cup as a result, knocking out PSV Eindhoven 2-0 overnight.

PSV lead the Eredivisie this season, making the win somewhat of a coup for Giovanni Van Bronckhorst's men. With Ajax already out, Feyenoord will now be favourites to win the competition.

A KNVB Cup win would restore some shine to a rather dull follow up for the resurgent Dutch club. The Rotterdam side also had a disappointing Champions League campaign, losing five of their six group stage matches.

But in good news for the Aussie, Jones' form has seen his position become almost untouchable.

After Jones kept 17 clean sheets last season, Feyenoord and former Dutch national team goalkeeper, Kenneth Vermeer, was loaned out to Club Brugge for this season, leaving the Australian keeper un-opposed leading into the World Cup.
