EUROROO WRAP: Harry Kewell's Galatasaray slipped to an embarrassing 2-0 defeat at Super Lig basement boys Hacettepe SK ending any lingering title ambitions.
Patiyo Tambwe opened the scoring after 58 minutes but the hosts had to wait until the last minute, when Ibrahim Sahin scored, to seal the points.
Kewell put in a full shift in attacking role alongside Milan Baros.
Gala remain eight points behind leaders Sivasspor, who have a game in hand, while Hacettepe are 10 points from safety with just four games remaining.
Elsewhere in Europe, there were several other Aussies in action. Ante Covic was between the sticks for Swedish side Elfsborg as they picked up a 1-1 draw against Brommapojkarna.
In the same league fellow Aussie keeper Nathan Coe was in action for bottom club Orgryte. Sadly the club's miserable start to the season continued with a 2-1 defeat at Trelleborgs, a result which leaves them bottom of the table and pointless after six matches.
To make matters worse Coe's men had to play the bulk of the game with 10 men after seeing one of their colleagues red-carded after just 38 minutes.
Jacob Burns, who looks to be on his way to Perth Glory, wasn't part of the Unirea Urziceni side which claimed top spot in the Romanian League after a 3-0 win over Gloria Bistrita.
