Speaking after training at Sydney Football Stadium today, Kosmina again expressed his dissatisfaction with the current set up ahead of their match against Wellington Phoenix tomorrow night.

Since October 1 clubs have been free to speak to players out of contract at the end of the current campaign.

Kosmina said: "I think there is a lot of disruption. I think the whole process is flawed.

"I know you can speak to players six months before the expiration of their contract but if you go back to the first of October, what, have we played five rounds of the A-League and you've already got players talking about where they're going to be next year.

"From a club perspective if you're trying to get someone across the line and you're wavering about whether you sign them or you don't, you're forced into making early decisions.

"It looks like Robbie (Middleby) is going to leave, we can talk about Iain Fyfe going to Adelaide or overseas and the same with Brendon Santalab at the Gold Coast.

"We've made offers to them that have been knocked back from their point of view so we've got to make some decisions, we're forced into it.

"I think the whole process is flawed. I'm not the only one that's complained about it. Newcastle, one of their players had a whinge about it in the press last week and I think it's fair.

"It's crazy that five games into a season you're talking about where you're going to be playing next year."

Kosmina knows how he'd like to change the current situation but isn't convinced it will happen.

He said: "I'd like to see it go back to the old days where you get your transfer deals done at the end of the year and not before. But I don't know if we'll ever get back to that."

Kosmina revealed he had spoken to Middleby about the contract issue - the experienced performer having been strongly linked with North Queensland.

The Sydney FC boss said: "I've spoken to Robbie about this and I personally think it will be a good move for him, and he does as well.

"So if he goes, he goes. We've got to get on with the job."
