Krishna has generated a buzz for his club Waitakere United, emphasized by the pocket rocket hitting a double in a 5-0 (6-0 on aggregate) win over a gallant Team Wellington in the NZ FC semis ahead of Waitakere's grand final with Auckland City this weekend. .

The 21-year-old Fijian has scored 11 times in 13 games this season in what his coach has described as the striker's breakthrough year.

Milicich says he'd be "incredibly stunned" if Krishna was still in the NZFC next season.

"He's very quick and powerful and while he's not the biggest player in the world but he genuinely knows how to score," Milicich told au.fourfourtwo.com from Auckland today.

"And in all my years as a coach, I've never seen someone hit a ball as hard as he does. There is interest in Roy but most of the A-League seem to be looking off-shore, such as Europe.

"I know the Phoenix are interested but I think if the A-League clubs don't move quickly, he could end up in the MLS or further abroad."

Milicich confirmed there had already been interest from at least one MLS club.

However, for A-League clubs one drawback is that Krishna is not the beneficiary of the AFC's 3+1 import rule - meaning he'd taking up a visa spot should an Australian-based club wished to sign him.

Krishna, a former Labasa FC player in Fiji, gets another chance to show what he can do when United play cross-town rivals Auckland City in this weekend's grand final.

Milicich tips a feisty encounter early on and suggests Auckland will look to nullify the more creative United pipeline to Krishna and fellow striker Benjamin Totori.

"The mood in the camp is one of confidence," he says. "We've been beaten only once domestically in the last 18 months. And the grand final is at our place but in one-off final anything can happen.

"They'll look to their three midfielders to get physical with our more creative midfield. But with Roy and Benjamin [Totori] we have players with pace who can get on the outside of players.

"They have a lot more to worry about than us."

And for fans, the chance to see former All-White Ivan Vicelich and Keryn Jordan against hitman Krishna and co should ensure a bumper crowd for NZFC's showpiece match.

"Roy is one of those players who makes fans want to come and watch football," added Milicich.
