Italy coach Marcello Lippi has played down talk that Amauri's decision to take citizenship will lead to his inclusion in the country's World Cup squad.
The Brazil-born Juventus striker became an Italian earlier this week and expressed his desire to represent the Azzurri.
However, when asked about Amauri, Lippi said: "This does not mean that he will be certainly called up.
"He will be followed like all the other players.
"I am taking this month to evaluate and take decisions that have to be made exclusively for the good of the national team."
The 29-year-old has struck five goals in 27 league appearances for the Turin giants this season.
