The Uruguayan-born boss has excluded Lazio midfielder Luis Jimenez after he requested not to be involved.

Acosta has also let Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal play in the Youth World Cup for the national team.

The coach will have to cut out three players to reduce the squad to 22 for the tournament to be held in Venezuela from June 26 to July 15.

Chile are in Group B, alongside defending champions Brazil, Mexico and Ecuador, three nations who played last year's World Cup.

The Chilean Football Federation president Harold Mayne Nicholls has said that Acosta would be sacked if Chile fail to have a successful campaign in Venezuela ahead of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.

Acosta though admitted he is prepared to put the future of Chilean football ahead of his own priorities.

He said: "Despite my position being at risk I have considered the long-term interests of Chile and let Under-20 players be in the Youth World Cup squad.

"Both Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal could be starters in the senior team."
