The former Socceroo has been in Melbourne since late last week attending a funeral and a wedding - which was pre-arranged - but the one-time Swiss League star was disillusioned with certain issues at the club.

However, some backroom manoeuvres in the last few days involving Jets technical director Branko Culina appear to have rescued the situation and it's expected that following Monday's meeting, Milicevic will return to lead the Jets backline starting with the Asian Champions League.

The side's next two ACL games are crucial with home and away ties against arguably the strongest side in their group, Nagoya Grampus 8, on April 8 and 22.
