The knee injury which has bedeviled the defender's return to Australia and A-League football still has not fully healed, causing the player to struggle when kicking the ball.

Milicevic is currently training with Ernie Merrick's squad and is able to run, but without the knee fully healed the player is not considered a selection option right now.

However it's hoped he'll be fit when Victory concludes the home and away season in the next two weeks. If Victory's improbably finals run fails to materialise, it would then mean March 12's home tie with K-League side Chunnam Dragons in the ACL would be the potential date for a return to action.

Meanwhile, sources in Europe confirm there is interest in the 26-year-old, who has another year left on his contract Victory.

“Like any player, he wants to get back. To do what he gets paid to do and to do what he came back to do,” a source close to Milicevic told au.fourfourtwo.com.

“It would be a surprise if he wasn't selected for the Asian Champions League.”
