Mariners keeper Danny Vukovic believes his side can snatch-and-grab all three points against Melbourne Victory at Telstra Dome on Sunday.
“Yep, four wins from four matches… that’s we want and will be going for,” he declared to au.fourfourtwo.com.
“And hopefully the other teams keep drawing like they have been and we’ll be out of reach sooner rather than later.”
Vukovic is tipped to return to the starting line-up after missing round three’s clash against Queensland Roar. The highly-rated 22-year-old has been in camp with the Olyroos with Matthew Trott filling in for the Mariners during his absence.
Victory has drawn all three matches so far, but Vukovic expects a tough encounter at Telstra Dome. Melbourne’s first home match this season attracted a huge crowd of 31,545.
“Melbourne boasted the best strike partnership last season with Archie and Danny Allsopp. They haven’t hit their straps yet but they’re playing at Telstra Dome in front of their home crowd so they’ll be on fire and buzzing. But we’re also playing well also and our defenders are awesome at the moment.
“Nigel Boogaard, our young defender is doing great and Tony Vidmar is back and he is playing well. It’s going to be a huge match but I think we’ll be going to get 12 points.”
