Ryan has been a standout performer at the Coast after number one keeper Jess Vanstrattan picked up a serious injury in early September.

The Sydney teen was chosen ahead of the more experienced Paul Henderson and has not let coach Graham Arnold down over the past 11 weeks.

Again he put in an eye-catching performance at EA stadium on Wednesday despite conceding a late goal in the 1-1 draw.

But Ryan is keeping his feet well and truly on the ground quashing any talk about a future beyond the club’s next match against Brisbane Roar.

“I focus on what I can handle and do and keep putting in good performances and concentrate on this year – and when next year comes around concentrate on that,” he told au.fourfourtwo.com.

That future includes Fury keeper Justin Pasfield joining the Gosford franchise next season. Ryan didn’t want to be drawn on how that would affect his chances of first team football.

But his stunning run of form has lead to some suggesting he could join teammates Mustafa Amini and Marc Warren in the Young Socceroo set up for the 2011 World Youth Cup in Colombia.

He has been part of a train on squad in the past but as yet there has been no official contact from Jan Versleijen in recent times. However, with the form Ryan's in, a call-up is surely not far off.

“At the beginning of the year I didn’t really have any goals to be honest. Just to make an appearance, my debut might have been enough,” added Ryan, a former Blacktown City player.

“But now I’ve got the number one shirt at the moment, my main goal is to keep retaining it each week.

“I’m stoked with my performances and growing in confidence to do the job. Eleven games in and I couldn’t be happier.”

As for Wednesday night’s draw with the Jets, Ryan said the Mariners were gutted to have given up two points after super-sub Sasho Petrovski popped up to bag a very late equaliser.

Ryan said: “The boys were shattered… to get done by a sloppy type of goal on our behalf is pretty heartbreaking.”
